Job summary

The Housing Plus Group in Shrewsbury is seeking a Care and Support Worker to deliver compassionate care at The Coppice, a ShireLiving service for residents aged 55+. This part-time role offers 20 hours per week and requires a person-centered approach.

You will assist with personal care, domestic tasks, social activities and accompany residents to events, while upholding our values of empathy, dignity and inclusivity. DBS check will be enhanced.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering care and support to older adults preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist tenants with personal care, shopping, cleaning and laundry.
  • Support residents with social activities and events.
  • Provide meal preparation and medication management as needed.
  • Promote independence and inclusivity and act with compassion and patience.

Job title: Care and Support Worker

Hours: 20 hours per week (3 roles available)

Location: The Coppice, Bicton Shrewsbury, SY3 8DT

Are you seeking a new challenge as a Care and Support Worker that allows you the opportunity to demonstrate a caring and compassionate nature, delivering excellent care and support services? If so, we would love to hear from you.

The Coppice is a large ShireLiving service with 70 apartments offering people over the age of 55 a home for life where they can live independently within one of our apartments, with the additional reassurance that our team are on-site for 24 hours a day offering safety and security for all of our tenants who all have varying needs.

Our vibrant communities within ShireLiving thrive on connection and joy, offering activities tailored to what our residents love most. Together, we create a warm, engaging environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

Our team of Care and Support Workers also support our tenants with social activities and events like bingo, live music, active gardening club, indoor bowling, craft activities, breakfast, lunches and snacks.

When required, Care and Support Workers also support our tenants with personal care, shopping, cleaning, laundry, socialisation, medication management and meal preparation.
