Job summary

Gloucester Charities Trust in Gloucester is seeking a Care & Support Assistant for Magdalen House. You will provide compassionate personal care and assist residents with daily living tasks in a warm, person-centred environment.

The role focuses on enabling independence, building relationships with residents and families, and maintaining care records. After medication training, you may administer medications as per policy, with safeguarding and health & safety at the core.

Care and Support Assistant Days – Magdalen House

36 hours per week

£13.80 per hour, (increasing to £14.10 after medication training), plus £1.00 per hour at weekends

We are seeking a dedicated Care & Support Assistant to join our friendly team in our well-established residential care home for older people, Magdalen House. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting older adults to live with dignity, independence, and wellbeing in a warm and person-centred environment.

About The Role

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents.
• Assist with daily living activities, including dressing, bathing, mobility, and mealtimes.
• Encourage residents’ independence, choice, and participation in activities.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records in line with CQC and organisational requirements.
• Support residents living with dementia and other age-related conditions.
• Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and infection prevention measures.
• After completion of medication training, administer medication in line with our polices and processes.

Desirable

• Previous experience in health or social care.
