Care and Support Assistant

£12.60 per hour

37.5 hours per week

Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Care and Support Assistant at our CQC Registered Learning Disabilities Service, Skelton Court in Leicester.

The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:
  1. Providing support to encourage our customers with learning and physical disabilities to maximise their own potential and independence.
  2. Key working with individuals to support them in setting out a care and support plan.
  3. Following care plans and writing comprehensive care notes.
  4. Providing a high quality, personalised care and support service including the sensitive delivery of personal care and managing medication.
  5. Helping customers to get up, washed and dressed.
  6. Supporting customers to go to into the local community e.g. visits to local shops and cafes, visiting friends and attending GP appointments.
  7. Promoting a positive culture by engaging with customers to prevent social isolation.
  8. Working with customers and other staff members to ensure a clean and comfortable environment.
  9. Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments.
Skills and experiences:
  1. Prior experience delivering personal care is desirable.
  2. A kind, caring nature.
  3. Ability to work well both as part a team and on own initiative.
  4. Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of customers.
  5. Excellent organisation skills.
  6. NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is desirable.
