The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust invites applications for a Consultant Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist. The postholder will deliver anaesthetic services in cardiothoracic theatres, cardiothoracic critical care and cardiology, and participate in a flexible, rolling rota with colleagues, including on-call duties.

Joining our tertiary centre, you will contribute to a1:1024/7 on-call rota serving a population in excess of 1 million, with wide anaesthetic and intensive care responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering anaesthesia for cardiothoracic procedures.
• Ability to participate in cardiothoracic critical care and in the on-call rota.
• Experience with trans-oesophageal echocardiography and perioperative care.

Responsabilités

• Provide cardiac and thoracic anaesthetic services.
• Participate in the out-of-hours on-call service for the department.
• Cover for Consultants during periods of leave.
• Engage in medical audit and research as appropriate.
• Ensure that clinical governance requirements are met.
• Ensure staff can contact you when necessary for patient care.
• Supervise and manage junior medical staff in conjunction with Consultants.
• Contribute to teaching, examinations and accreditation duties for junior medical staff.
• Take an active role in the management of the Division with Divisional Manager.
• Develop and implement new ways of working in line with modernisation principles.
• Optimize use of departmental staffing and resources for maximum efficiency.
• Adhere to Trust policies and Standing Orders/Financial Instructions.
• Take responsibility for your Health & Safety and safe working arrangements.
• Report hazards as necessary and manage them appropriately.
• Perform other duties as deemed appropriate.
