Qualifications

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Community Cardiac Nurse to work across our community outpatient Cardiac Services. Community sites are based in Action, Ealing, Maida Vale, and Ladbroke Grove.

The post holder will be a highly experienced Cardiac Nurse to support triaging referrals, assist staff with unwell patients, and manage Band 6 and Band 3 clinics.

The candidate should have substantial cardiac nursing experience, be able to interpret ECGs, and manage referrals effectively, liaising with GPs and Cardiologists as needed. The role requires autonomous working with support when necessary and managing a GP helpline.

The post is based at St Mary’s but involves traveling across community sites as required.

Main duties of the job
  • Assess GP referrals into the service.
  • Collaborate with GPs to understand patient urgency.
  • Interpret diagnostics and triage appropriately.
  • Manage a Specialist GP access clinic for urgent cases.
  • Provide advice and support to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Potentially run a Specialist Nurse Clinic in the community.
  • Travel across community sites as required.
  • Manage the GP helpline for patient management advice.
