Job summary

Cowshed is seeking an ambitious PR Officer to join our Cardiff team. You will help deliver campaigns that spark conversations across public, private and not-for-profit sectors, turning briefs into compelling stories and securing media coverage. The role emphasises news judgment, strong writing, and collaborative working with creative, digital and social teams.

Welsh language skills are desirable. You’ll be part of a team that values diversity, inclusion and high‑quality work, with a genuine

Qualifications

  • Experience in PR or communications and strong writing ability.
  • Ability to turn briefs into strong stories and generate fresh ideas.
  • Ability to move quickly when opportunities arise.
  • Willingness to work across multiple teams and campaigns.
  • Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Keep up with the news, trends and conversations for clients.
  • Find stories and pitch fresh PR angles from briefs.
  • Write press releases, pitches, case studies and talking points with accuracy and creativity.
  • Build relationships with journalists, editors, influencers and stakeholders.
  • Identify reactive opportunities in the news and move quickly to leverage them.
  • Support media interviews, events, shoots and coverage from idea to publication.
  • Develop and deliver PR strategies and campaigns with cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to campaign evaluation and glean insights and learnings.
