We’re looking for an ambitious, curious and creative PR Officer to join our team and help us deliver campaigns that get people talking.
You’ll work with brilliant clients across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, helping us find the stories that matter, get them in front of the right people and make an impact.
News first is a big deal at Cowshed. We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes the news agenda, spots a story at 100 paces and isn’t afraid to pick up the phone to a journalist.
You’ll have experience in PR or communications and be a brilliant writer and communicator, with the ability to turn a brief into a strong story, develop fresh PR ideas and move quickly when opportunities arise.
You’ll work collaboratively across campaign, creative, digital and social teams, while taking ownership of your work and bringing ideas to the table.
Excellent Welsh language verbal and writing skills are desirable, but not essential.
If you know your way around Canva or Adobe, have basic social/content editing skills or experience using PR evaluation tools, even better.

Finding the story in a brief and coming up with fresh PR ideas and angles.
Writing accurate, creative and standout press releases, pitches, case studies, talking points and other content.
Building relationships with journalists, editors, influencers and stakeholders.
Identifying reactive opportunities across the news and social agenda and moving quickly when they arise.
Supporting media interviews, briefings, events, photo and video shoots and other media moments from initial idea through to coverage.
Supporting the development and delivery of PR strategies and campaign ideas.
Working collaboratively with campaign, creative, digital and social teams.
Contributing to campaign evaluation and identifying insights and learning.
Supporting Cowshed’s own media relations and profile-building activity.
Manage multiple projects, deadlines and competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Deliver high-quality PR activity for Cowshed clients across a range of sectors.
Identify and develop proactive and reactive media opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, influencers and relevant stakeholders.
Develop compelling story angles and PR ideas from client briefs.
Produce accurate, engaging and audience-focused communications materials.
Contribute to PR strategies, campaign planning and evaluation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong copywriting skills, with the ability to write accurate, creative and engaging content for different audiences.
Experience in PR, communications, journalism or a related field.
Ability to find the story in a brief and develop fresh PR ideas and angles.
Good understanding of the news agenda and what makes a story newsworthy.
Ability to build relationships with journalists, editors, influencers and stakeholders.
Ability to identify and act on reactive opportunities quickly.
Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively across different teams and specialisms.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
