Job summary

Qualifications Wales is seeking a Director of Communications and Engagement in Newport, offering hybrid working. You will lead communications, PR and stakeholder engagement to promote public confidence in Wales' qualifications system.

The role requires Welsh/English fluency, strategic delivery, and strong relationship management as part of senior leadership. Joining the Management Board, you will shape narratives, oversee digital channels and campaigns, and guide policy-informing communications

Qualifications

Fluency in Welsh and English is required.
Proven experience delivering communications strategies or stakeholder engagement across multiple audiences.
Proven experience in issue management and protecting organisational reputation.
Experience leading teams to maximise performance and continuous improvement.
Experience developing strong internal and external relationships.
Good understanding of the education sector in Wales.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership across communications, public relations and stakeholder engagement to promote confidence in qualifications and the system.
Deliver communications and stakeholder strategy; strengthen public profile and engage with audiences.
Join the Management Board and senior leadership group to advise on communications and engagement in policy development and regulatory activity.
