Job summary

First Base in Nuneaton is seeking an experienced Composite Laminator to join the busy Composites Department, manufacturing visual carbon components for automotive, aerospace, defence and marine customers. You will be experienced with pre-preg materials, vacuum bagging and autoclave curing.

You will laminate parts, work with carbon and glass composites, check drawings, inspect moulds, and help develop processes to maintain quality and throughput in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with pre-preg autoclave processes.
• Experience with carbon and glass composites.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow procedures and detailed work instructions.
• Good verbal communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Laminate parts and tooling across a broad range of products.
• Work with pre-preg carbon and glass materials.
• Check drawings and route card instructions before starting work.
• Inspect patterns and moulds prior to use and report any defects.
• Carry out breakout of parts following the curing process and identify defects.
• Help develop processes to improve quality and efficiency.
• Maintain equipment and ensure it is kept in good working order.
• Ensure the department and work area are kept clean and tidy.
• Complete work to required timescales and quality standards.
• Follow all procedures, work instructions and manuals.
