Job summary

AstraZeneca Macclesfield seeks a Capital Project & High-Hazard Lead to own the campus CDM, permit-to-work and high-hazard governance. You will coordinate Principal Contractor liaison, maintain permit-system integrity, and drive training and competency across capital projects using AI-enabled workflows.

Key responsibilities include CDM duty-holder coordination, SHE assurance, and contractor management at major industrial sites, with a focus on energy isolation, safe access and regulatory

Qualifications

• CDM Principal Designer/Contractor experience required.
• Capital project SHE or high-hazard permit-to-work coordination experience essential.
• Strong knowledge of UK CDM 2015 and PUWER regulations.
• Proven track record in contractor management at major industrial sites.

Responsibilities

• Hold campus permit-to-work system integrity and governance.
• Lead CDM duty-holder coordination with Principal Designer/Contractor.
• Manage contractor competency framework and on-site inductions.
• Coordinate SHE interface for capital projects and pre-commissioning checks.
• Provide assurance on high-risk operations: energy isolation and confined spaces.
• Operate AI-supported permit lifecycle workflow and documentation registers.
• Collaborate with senior safety leadership on high-hazard interfaces.
• Lead training curriculum for permit issuers/acceptors and refresher cycles.
