Job summary

Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Leicestershire for a Capital Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will support the financial accounts process, applying specialist knowledge in corporate finance, government policy and legislation.

The role will involve preparing and reviewing working papers for the Statement of Accounts, liaising with external auditors, completing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting quarterly capital

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with proven experience in capital accounting.
• Strong knowledge of local government accounting requirements and statutory accounts.
• Experience liaising with external auditors and handling technical accounting queries.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review working papers supporting the Statement of Accounts.
• Respond to external audit queries on capital accounting matters.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and assist with quarterly capital monitoring and grant claims.
• Apply knowledge of corporate finance and government policy to deliver tasks within deadlines.
