Job summary

Service Care Solutions are recruiting a Treasury and Financial Strategy Accountant for a temporary 3-month assignment in Leicestershire. You will support the Financial Strategy and Treasury Manager to develop asset financing policies and strategies in line with council objectives.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with significant experience in local authority finance.
• Experienced in treasury management, financial strategy, budgeting, or financial planning within a complex organisation.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and produce accurate forecasts.
• Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and present financial information clearly to a range of audiences.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the execution of major treasury decisions at the best rates, minimising credit exposure and other risks.
• Ensure that day to day borrowing and investment decisions are taken in line with policy.
• Support the preparation of forecasts for Council spending and income, including sensitivity analysis.
• Support the Financial Strategy and Treasury Manager to prepare the Council's general fund budget and medium-term financial strategy for approval.
