Job summary

Matchtech Group are recruiting a Capability Lead - Weapon System Performance in the Defence & Security sector to head a specialist engineering group assessing performance of advanced weapon system solutions. This permanent role supports weapon system design, development and operational effectiveness.

You will lead across multiple weapon projects, build an inclusive high-performing team, oversee recruitment and development, and provide technical leadership on bids and projects.

Qualifications

• Experience leading specialist engineering teams.
• Strong systems engineering lifecycle knowledge.
• Knowledge of mission planning and weapon system performance assessment.
• Experience with performance testing and complex engineering models.
• Ability to plan capacity and manage multi-project delivery.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration.
• Commitment to inclusive, knowledge-sharing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of engineers across multiple weapon system projects.
• Develop and sustain a high-performing capability.
• Define and execute vision for capability growth.
• Oversee recruitment, staff development, knowledge management, capacity planning and objectives.
• Provide technical leadership on bids and project activities.
• Lead performance assessments using complex models and HPC.
• Support mission planning, algorithm development and testing.
• Build relationships with customers and other engineering functions.
