Job summary

Yeo Valley Organic is seeking a motivated canteen operative to support the Cannington canteen team in daily food service operations, including preparing breakfasts and lunches, making sandwiches and grab-and-go items, and delivering friendly customer service.

You'll work to HACCP and hygiene standards, help meet daily KPIs, and assist with stock control, food safety, and keeping a clean, well-organised workspace while supporting new starters and contributing to team improvements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food items and cook breakfasts and lunches.
• Produce sandwiches, wraps, salads, and grab-and-go items.
• Maintain hygiene and HACCP controls, allergen handling, and clean-as-you-go practices.
• Operate the till and handle card payments; provide friendly customer service.
• Support menu planning and clearly communicate daily menu items.
• Ensure correct portioning, stock rotation and minimize waste.
• Keep preparation areas, fridges and equipment tidy and compliant with hygiene standards.
• Support new starters with basic training and guidance.
