Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Cancer Support and Information Health Care Professional to develop and lead helpline and drop-in services for patients and families affected by cancer. You will work with other health care professionals to ensure high-quality information and support across the cancer journey.

The role includes training staff and volunteers, maintaining data, and coordinating pre- and post-treatment sessions.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a health related subject (e.g. nursing, radiotherapy).
• Oncology qualification and/or considerable experience.
• Training in communication/counselling skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee HCP-led services including a helpline and drop-in sessions.
• Provide cancer support and information to patients, carers and staff as required.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure consistent quality of service.
