Job summary

Spire Southampton Hospital is seeking an experienced Cancer Services Lead to provide leadership in SACT services, education and support for the cancer team. You will drive high quality care and safety compliance while advancing cancer service development within a private hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with significant Oncology experience.
  • Qualified in venepuncture and cannulation and use of CVADs.
  • Evidence of CPD in management and cancer studies.
  • Degree level qualification and NMC registration.

Cancer Services Lead | Nursing Manager | Private Hospital | Spire Southampton Hospital | Full-time | Permanent | Southampton

Spire Southampton Hospital are looking for an experienced Cancer Services Lead. You will be Lead specialist in the area of SACT providing specialist education and support. To ensure the wider cancer team and Clinical Nurse Specialists deliver effective quality care and adhere to safety compliance for patients with cancer by providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership.

This would be an ideal role for someone looking to take the next step in progressing their career with the opportunity grow and create business opportunities in cancer services.

Spire Southampton offersvarious cancer investigations, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgical options, including specialist procedures like HIFU for prostate cancer and breastreconstruction.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Develop practice in the assessment of health and wellbeing needs within SACT/ cancer services within Spire Healthcare.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information across cancer services.
  • Develop own knowledge and practice and assist others to continually professionally develop across cancer services.
  • Develop a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety and security.
  • Develop strategies and policies for cancer services.
  • Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice within cancer care.
  • Improve quality & safety compliance
  • Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practices within cancer care
Who we're looking for:
  • Registered Nurse with significant Oncology experience
  • Qualified in venepuncture and cannulation and the use of CVAD's
  • Evidence of substantial post registration continual professional development in management and clinically related cancer studies.
  • Degree level qualification
  • Nursing and Midwifery Council registration and regulation
  • Working towards MSc in Oncology Practice is desirable
  • Experience of working with within a nurse led environment as lead
  • Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes in individuals with a cancer diagnosis
  • UKONS SACT Passport is desirable
  • Experience of Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM) is desirable
