Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an ambitious Operations and Performance Manager to join the Cancer Centre. You will provide operational leadership to drive cancer waiting times, performance improvements and service delivery, ensuring timely, high-quality care for patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a first degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Leadership and management training or qualification.
• Evidence of continuing personal development.
• Experience in NHS management role.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
• Project management experience with deadlines.
• Strong communication and change management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and performance management to support delivery of national cancer standards, recovery ambitions and Trust objectives.
• Lead performance improvement initiatives, identify opportunities to streamline patient pathways and drive sustainable change across cancer services.
• Translate complex performance information into meaningful actions to inform operational decisions with robust data and patient impact in mind.
• Oversee governance arrangements including audit, complaints, incidents, risk and health and safety.
• Manage administrative and MDT teams within the cancer centre; deliver appraisal and mandatory training requirements.
• Responsible for financial performance relating to delegated budgets and operational performance of the MDT team.
• Represent the Cancer Centre Manager as required.
