Job summary

Reaseheath College is seeking a Campus Supervisor to help supervise students across the campus, enforce college policies and support the Transport Coordinator with safeguarding and welfare duties.

The role requires good communication with young people, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and a proven ability to work flexibly within a busy college environment. It is a permanent, term-time position with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English grade C (or equivalent) is required.
  • Experience interacting effectively with young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Evidence of understanding issues related to diversity and social inclusion.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
  • Assist in ensuring safe and appropriate use of college facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with students, curriculum departments, visitors, parents and guardians in verbal and written form.
  • Document and process student behaviour, wellbeing or safeguarding matters.
  • Regularly patrol the campus to maintain security.
  • Supervise College Transport areas to ensure safe arrival and departure of students.

Status: Term Time Only; Permanent, 40 hours per week
Working: Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm with the occasional Weekend

Overview

Reaseheath College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year. Our Transport department is responsible for the smooth running of all arrivals and departures across campus, as well as supervising students around the college.

About the role

We are looking for someone to supervise students around college, enforce college policies, assist the Transport Coordinator, offer guidance and support, safeguarding and welfare the of students.

Key responsibilities:
  • Communicate with students, curriculum departments, visitors, parents and guardians, (both verbally and written).
  • Process and document dealing with student behaviour, either for a disciplinary matter, wellbeing or safeguarding concern.
  • Participates in regular patrolling of the campus to ensure that campus security is maintained.
  • Supervise College Transport areas to ensure safe arrival and departure of students.
  • Ensure the meeting of highest standards in respect of health and safety, equality and diversity college PRIDE values, safeguarding and child protection matters.
The successful candidate will:
  • Minimum GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of interacting effectively with young people and vulnerable adults
  • Evidence of an excellent understanding of issues to do with diversity and social inclusion
  • Proven ability to communicate in an effective and appropriate manner
  • Assists in ensuring safe and appropriate use of college facilities

As a College, we actively encourage applications from industry professionals without a teaching qualification, as well as those from qualified teachers. Reaseheath offers a full CPD programme with access to funded qualifications alongside hands on support whilst completing Further Education Training. Industry professionals joining the College in an academic role, will complete their Further Education Training whilst in post.

Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must also have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this. In addition, online checks will be carried out during the recruitment process. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
