Job summary

Vigilant Security seeks a Campus Security Officer for Fareham College, on-site in Fareham. The mid-shift runs 08:30–14:30 (Mon–Fri) with possible reviews to 08:00–16:00 and holiday cover. You will be part of a 3-officer team, handling security duties and visitor management.

Salary is negotiable (£13.88/hr noted) with emphasis on safety, confidentiality and professional conduct within a busy college environment.

Qualifications

• DS SIA license required.
• Able to cover mid shift and some holiday cover.
• Full-time role with potential shift changes.
• Experience in customer-facing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a prompt, polite welcome to all visitors.
• Anticipate clients' needs and meet expectations daily.
• Be a visible customer-focused professional greeting visitors.
• Maintain a consistent professional service at all times.
• Communicate visitor arrivals to relevant staff promptly.
• Maintain a high security awareness at all times.
• Undertake patrols and inspections as instructed.
• Use communications equipment effectively.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies.
• Issue visitor passes and maintain incident records.
