Job summary

University of Glasgow is seeking a Campus Security Team member to deliver frontline security, safety and traffic management across the university portfolio. You will work with staff, students and visitors, providing a visible, customer‑centred service and support during events and everyday campus operations.

The role requires a proactive approach, the ability to respond to alarms and emergencies, and good communication skills to signpost services and liaise with colleagues across campuses.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering frontline customer-focused security services.
• Knowledge of CCTV and building access control systems.
• Understanding health and safety policies incl. evacuation procedures.
• Full UK driving licence or valid UK licence for mobile patrols.
• Experience working with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer-centric security support to campus users.
• Monitor CCTV and incident management as trained.
• Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies.
• Support traffic and crowd control during events.
• Coordinate with Estates and IT helpdesk for faults.
