Job summary

University of Strathclyde is seeking a Security Officer based in Glasgow to guard, watch and patrol, helping to prevent crime, preserve order and protect life and property on campus.

The role requires physical fitness, the ability to respond quickly in emergencies, and experience in security or safeguarding, including operating security systems and first aid. 1.0 FTE (35 hours per week) with a salary of £24,685–£25,804 plus 25% shift allowance.

Qualifications

• Candidates should be able to undertake physically demanding duties.
• Able to respond quickly in emergency situations.
• Previous security or safeguarding experience and operation of security systems.

Responsibilities

• Guard, watch and patrol to prevent crime, preserve order and protect life and property.
• Contribute to the reduction of accidents and ensure safety rules are observed.
• Carry out stewarding and safety duties at special occasions, private functions and dinners.
