Job summary

Birkbeck, University of London is seeking a Duty Security Manager to lead daytime campus security operations at the Bloomsbury campus. You will oversee the daytime security team, coordinate incident response and ensure high standards of service and safety for students, staff and visitors.

The role requires managing rotas, working 5 shifts across 7 days, including weekends, with hours from 07:00 to 23:00. A current SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV licence (or willingness to obtain one) is essential.

Qualifications

• SIA Door Supervisor licence and CCTV licence (or willingness to obtain one).
• Experience supervising or leading a security team.
• Experience responding to incidents and coordinating emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of campus security operations.
• Manage rotas and staffing for the daytime team.
• Oversee control room operations and coordinate incident response.
• Support safe delivery of campus events and ensure compliance with health and safety and data protection requirements.
• Assist with Martyn’s Law implementation and related security measures.
