Job summary

City of Bristol College is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to safeguard staff, students and visitors at Parkway Campus and College Green. You will greet visitors, patrol buildings and car parks, and respond to alarms with a calm, professional approach.

This permanent, term-time role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure and a commitment to health and safeguarding policies. You will work closely with the facilities team to maintain a safe college environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Calm and confident approach to emergencies.
• Willingness to undertake training; experience in security advantageous.
• All new employees require an enhanced DBS disclosure for safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist visitors at reception and provide a friendly, professional service.
• Conduct regular security patrols across buildings, grounds and car parks.
• Respond to emergencies, alarms and incidents with appropriate action.
• Record activity and incidents in college procedures; liaise with facilities team.
• Provide emergency first aid when required and uphold health and safety standards.
