Zusammenfassung

Heriot-Watt University is recruiting a SafeGuarding Officer to join the SafeGuarding Services team. You will be the first responder to security and emergency incidents on campus, providing pastoral care and safeguarding across the university community.

Working on a 12-hour shift pattern (4 on 4 off) full-time, you will patrol buildings, monitor CCTV, lock/unlock facilities and liaise with emergency services as required. Training is provided and overtime opportunities exist.

Aufgaben

• Ensure a reliable, effective SafeGuarding service to meet the university requirements.
• Provide high levels of professional pastoral care and support to the student population.
• React as a first responder to emergency situations as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with Student Wellbeing, the Chaplaincy and the Student Union to ensure full spectrum of student support.
• Locking and unlocking University buildings including satellite locations as necessary.
• Patrolling University buildings and campus to protect the property of the University from crime.
• Protecting assets against damage by fire, flood or other hazards and reporting breaches of Health and Safety procedures.
• Monitoring CCTV coverage and dealing with identified breaches of security.
• Contacting and liaising with emergency services as necessary.
• Provide support and assistance to colleagues, students and visitors.
• Act as an ambassador for the University at all times.
• Respond to routine and atypical service requirements.
• Manage personal work profile following established procedures and as directed by management.
• Participate in and ensure completion of reporting in area of responsibility.
• Any other tasks appropriate to the post and in line with service business needs.
• Responsible for complying with University Health and Safety Policy.
