Job summary

Shaftesbury Group's education provision is seeking an Estates Operative to join the maintenance team across campus. The role covers general building repairs, minor electrical work, carpentry and decorating, and maintaining compliance records for Legionella, fire safety and alarms.

You will work on reactive, proactive and planned maintenance with staff and volunteers, support safety and compliance, and help keep licensing and inspections up to date. Enhanced DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Experience in the maintenance department of an educational setting or large buildings.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of upkeep around the campus, fostering a culture of safety, compliance and excellence
• Carry out general building repairs
• Carry out minor electrical works
• Carry out carpentry work
• Complete a range of decorating work
• Work within reactive, proactive and planned maintenance programmes
• Record checks for Legionella, fire safety and routine alarms, keeping accurate records
• Take action to rectify any compliance failures
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations
• Manage inspections and audits
