Job summary

University of Bristol is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to provide preventative and reactive maintenance across our Residential Campus. You will use a BMS to monitor critical plant and respond to faults, while coordinating with the DLO and contractors.

This role suits an experienced mechanical fitter seeking a varied, team‑oriented position. You will carry out planned maintenance, investigate mechanical faults, and help prioritise work with the Residential maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Significant experience with repair and maintenance of commercial building services.
• Recognised mechanical qualification (City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent, plus BTEC Level 2).
• Full driving licence and gas qualifications (domestic/commercial).

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative and reactive maintenance across the campus.
• Liaise with maintenance teams and contractors to prioritise jobs.
• Investigate and rectify mechanical faults on building services systems.
• Monitor and record data via the university's building management system (BMS).
• Respond to faults and alarms and escalate to the Maintenance Manager as needed.
• Perform planned maintenance tasks and support emergency responses.
