Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a reliable Site Officer for a busy secondary academy in Slough. You will work with the Facilities Manager to secure the site, oversee maintenance, and support health and safety compliance to provide a safe learning environment for pupils and staff.

The role covers security, minor repairs, contractor coordination, cleaning supervision, and event setup for assemblies and examinations.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade or facilities maintenance qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds) desirable.
• Experience in caretaking/site management within education or public sector settings.
• Strong DIY and maintenance skills with knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Site Security & Access Control: manage campus opening/closing procedures and monitor security.
• Building Maintenance & Repairs: perform minor repairs and routine upkeep to keep facilities in good condition.
• Health & Safety Compliance: conduct checks including water hygiene, fire alarm testing and emergency lighting.
• Grounds & Cleaning Supervision: oversee cleaning ops and seasonal grounds maintenance.
• Lettings & Event Setup: prepare spaces for assemblies, community lettings, and exams.
