Job summary

Brighton College is hiring a Cleaning Operative on a part-time, permanent basis. You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness across designated areas to provide a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

The role requires physical fitness, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. In-house training to NVQ level 2 will be provided, with shifts in the morning and late afternoon as specified.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning in a school or similar environment is beneficial.
• Ability to follow COSHH regulations and safe cleaning procedures.
• Willingness to participate in in-house cleaning training to NVQ level 2 standards.

Responsibilities

• Keep designated areas clean across hallways, floors, toilets, showers and classrooms.
• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and follow health and safety guidelines.
• Operate cleaning machinery and report faults promptly.
• Carry out emergency cleaning as required.
• Report defects to your supervisor and maintain safe working conditions.
• Follow management requests and maintain a courteous professional approach.
