Brighton College is seeking a part‑time Cleaning Operative on a permanent basis to maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

The role involves shifts Monday to Friday, daytime and late afternoon slots, with annual holidays and a range of benefits. NVQ level 2 cleaning training provided; DBS checks apply as part of safeguarding processes.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit and able to bend, reach and lift heavy items.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
• Able to work alone and in a team.
• Polite, friendly and helpful attitude.
• Able to speak confidently with parents, pupils and staff.

Responsabilités

• Keep designated areas clean including halls, toilets and classrooms.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely according to COSHH.
• Operate cleaning machinery and report faults promptly.
• Carry out emergency cleaning as required.
• Report defects to supervisor and follow safety precautions.
• Assist with other reasonable management requests.
