Job summary

Arts University Plymouth is seeking a part-time housekeeping operative to maintain a clean and welcoming campus. The role covers early morning shifts, with duties including cleaning, safety checks and reporting maintenance needs.

Ideal candidates will have cleaning experience, basic numeracy and the ability to follow written instructions. Training will be provided; a supportive team environment and flexible working patterns are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with general cleaning tasks and maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Understanding of basic health and safety practices (COSHH awareness).
• Ability to follow written instructions and report issues via email or form.
• Willingness to learn new cleaning skills and use equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Keep campus buildings looking clean, safe and welcoming daily.
• Safely operate floor scrubbers, polishers and vacuums with guidance provided.
• Follow health, safety and safeguarding guidelines and report issues.
• Support teaching, learning and creative activities by maintaining spaces.
