Job summary

North London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced psychologist to work with children and young people who have moderate to severe learning disabilities and neuro-developmental conditions within a CAMHS setting. The post involves specialist external consultation and direct clinical work as part of a supportive MDT.

You will provide supervision and contribute to risk assessment, risk management, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a psychologist working with children and young people.
• Specialist knowledge in learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Experience in delivering cognitive and adaptive behavior assessments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cognitive and adaptive behaviour assessments.
• Provide Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) interventions for young people and advise schools.
• Formulation and implementation of plans with shared decision making for mental health problems.
• Clinical supervision and appraisal of identified clinical staff.
• Support induction of new staff and trainees.
• Undertake meaningful risk assessment and risk management for individual clients.
