The U18 Wellbeing Service within Norfolk & Suffolk CAMHS offers a one-year, full-time trainee post funded by NHS England under the CYP Psychological Training Programme. Trainees split time between academic study and clinical work with children, young people and carers, with teaching in central London.

The role involves delivering evidence-based interventions, supervised training through UCL and Anna Freud, and development toward a core trainee in mental health with targets and a pension.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent overseas qualification.
• Core mental health practitioner qualification or KSA route.
• Significant experience of working in mental health services.

Responsabilités

• Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to children, young people, families and carers.
• Carry out clinical work with children, young people and carers linked to training assignments, around 2.5 days a week.
• Complete weekly teaching and personal study on the UCL and Anna Freud postgraduate diploma.
• Apply integrated therapy models, including modified behavioural, systemic and adapted anxiety and depression approaches.
• Make environmental adaptations and work with families, carers and education providers.
• Work with children and young people who have co-occurring difficulties such as sleep problems, school avoidance, epilepsy and ADHD.
• Follow NICE-recommended treatment and the CYP Psychological Training Programme core principles.
• Attend teaching at Anna Freud in central London.
• Take part in regular supervision throughout the training year.
• Meet agreed and specified service targets.
