Job summary

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust hosts a Band 5 CAMHS Practitioner to join the Getting Help Pathway in Rotherham CAMHS. You will support children and young people with emotional and mental health needs through triage, brief assessment and evidence-based interventions.

You will manage a caseload, assess risk, maintain clinical records and collaborate with families, education, social care and other professionals to promote positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work with current professional registration.
• Experience working with children and young people in CAMHS or similar setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and multi-agency working.

Responsibilities

• Undertake triage, brief assessments and evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties.
• Manage and prioritise a caseload, ensuring timely responses in line with clinical need and service standards.
• Provide advice, guidance and support to young people, families, carers and professionals.
• Assess and respond to risk, including self-harm and suicidal ideation, seeking senior support when required.
• Deliver psychoeducational groups, workshops and training sessions.

Job overview

We are seeking a Band 5 CAMHS Practitioner to join the Getting Help Pathway within Rotherham CAMHS. As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will support children and young people experiencing emotional and mental health needs through timely triage, brief assessment and evidence-based interventions. The role includes managing and prioritising a caseload, assessing and responding to risk, maintaining accurate clinical records, delivering workshops and working collaboratively with families, education, social care and other professionals to promote positive outcomes.

Main duties of the job

• Participate in clinical, managerial and safeguarding supervision, team meetings and service development activities.


• Engage in ongoing professional development, mandatory training and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work with current professional registration.

• Experience of working with children and young people – for newly qualified staff this could relate to placement experience


• Experience of working within a multidisciplinary setting

Knowledge

• A thorough understanding of the mental health needs of young people
