Job summary

Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist for its Community CAMHS team serving Thanet, Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate. The post focuses on assessing and treating ADHD, mood disorders, autism, anxiety and related conditions in under-18s, with part-time and job-share options considered.

The role requires full GMC registration, Licence to Practise, and approaching CCT within three months.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
• Full GMC registration with a Licence to Practise.
• On the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of completing CCT in child and adolescent psychiatry.
• Approved Clinician status, or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
• S12 approval under the Mental Health Act, or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat children and young people with a range of disorders in a generic Tier 3 CAMHS team
• Be accountable for service delivery to patients
• Initiate referrals to other specialist health services and agencies
• Give patients and relatives information and education so they can make meaningful choices
• Maintain professional knowledge through accredited courses and CPD
