Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a patient, experienced 1:1 Science Tutor to support a young person accessing EOTAS/Alternative Provision in Leominster. You will adapt teaching style, pace and resources to meet individual needs and create a calm, positive learning environment.

Strong Science knowledge and experience with SEND/SEMH learners are highly valued. This in-person role focuses on personalised tuition, GCSE preparation where appropriate, and building confidence in Science.

Qualifications

• Strong Science subject knowledge and ability to support secondary-aged learners.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs is desirable.
• Experience delivering one-to-one tuition or personalised educational support is desirable.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods, resources and pace according to the learner's needs.
• A patient, calm, flexible and empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised one-to-one Science tuition for a secondary-aged learner accessing EOTAS or Alternative Provision.
• Support GCSE Science preparation and assessments where appropriate.
• Adapt sessions to the learner's anxiety, disengagement or barriers to learning.
• Plan engaging, accessible and appropriately challenging Science lessons.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents/carers and professionals.
• Build a trusting relationship with the learner and collaborate with the wider support team.
