Job summary

Lift Sir Herbert Leon is seeking an Exam Invigilator to join our team and help run examinations smoothly at our school in Milton Keynes. You will work under the Exams Officer to ensure JCQ regulations are followed and examinations are conducted with integrity.

The role suits someone who can stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly with students and staff, and provide a supportive presence during important assessment periods. Experience in education is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Dependable, professional and confident working with groups of young people.
• Strong communication and literacy skills, follow instructions and schedules accurately, remain calm under pressure.
• Comfortable using initiative to resolve problems within established procedures.
• Student-focused, patient and sensitive to needs of young people; integrity and confidentiality are essential.
• Experience in education or with children is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are set up correctly.
• Check student attendance and candidate information.
• Distribute examination papers and materials.
• Provide clear instructions before examinations begin.
• Supervise students and maintain appropriate examination conditions.
• Ensure examination regulations are followed at all times.
• Respond to queries or disruptions calmly and report incidents.
• Collect examination papers and materials after exams.
• Support safe arrival and departure of students.
• Undertake reading and/or scribing duties where required.
