Job summary

Lift Sir Herbert Leon is seeking an Exam Invigilator to support the smooth running of examinations under JCQ regulations. You will prepare rooms, check attendance, distribute papers, give clear instructions and supervise students to maintain exam integrity.

A calm, professional presence with a focus on young people is essential. This casual contract role offers a November 2026 start and will involve working within Lift Schools to provide a positive examination environment across the school

Qualifications

Dependable, professional and confident working with groups of young people.
Strong communication and literacy skills; follow instructions and schedules accurately.
Remain calm under pressure; use initiative within procedures.

Responsibilities

Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are set up correctly.
Check student attendance and candidate information.
Distribute examination papers and materials.
Provide clear instructions to students before examinations begin.
Supervise students and maintain appropriate examination conditions per JCQ guidance.
Ensure examination regulations are followed at all times.
Respond calmly to queries, disruptions or unexpected situations.
Record and report incidents to the relevant staff member.
Collect examination papers and materials at the end of each exam.
Support the safe and orderly arrival and departure of students.
Undertake reading and/or scribing duties as required.
Undertake tasks as delegated by the exams officer.
