Job summary

Lift Schools is seeking an Exam Invigilator to support our Exams Officer by managing exam procedures and creating a calm, fair, and secure environment for students. No prior exam experience is required as training is provided, and you will need GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4 or equivalent.

We follow the regulations set out by the Joint Council for Qualifications and uphold high standards of exam conduct. A patient, clear communicator who works well with others will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• You do not need previous exam experience, though knowledge of exam procedures would be helpful.
• What matters most is your ability to stay calm under pressure and build trust with young people.
• Can you communicate clearly and follow instructions carefully?
• Do you work well with others and bring a patient, thoughtful approach to your work?
• You will ideally have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4 or equivalent, along with strong literacy skills.
• Experience working with young people or managing groups would be useful, but we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds.
• Have you supported others in important moments before?

Responsibilities

• Set up exam rooms according to seating plans and verify student identity
• Give clear instructions to students about exam procedures and help them feel at ease
• Monitor the exam room, maintain silence and handle any situations calmly
• Collect exam papers and materials securely after each session
• Support students with additional needs, such as reading or scribing where required
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies at all times
