Job summary

Nottinghamshire Police is seeking a Victim Identification and CAID Support Officer to join the Internet Child Exploitation Team. The role focuses on analysing digital media, supporting investigations, and identifying victims and offenders in online child exploitation cases.

You will contribute to the CAID programme, work with investigators and safeguarding professionals, and develop victim identification strategies for prosecutions.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in researching, gathering and assessing information.
  • Confident producing detailed reports and presenting findings.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities.
  • Skilled at building effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
  • Resilient and professional when dealing with highly sensitive and distressing material.
  • Passionate about safeguarding children and protecting vulnerable people.
  • Experience in intelligence development, digital investigations or safeguarding environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on Victim Identification and CAID matters across Nottinghamshire Police and with external partners.
  • Examine digital images, videos and online content to identify victims, locations and offenders.
  • Maintain Nottinghamshire Police's contribution to the national CAID database.
  • Produce victim identification strategies and evidential attribution packages to support investigations and prosecutions.
  • Conduct online and open-source research to identify victims and perpetrators.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to investigators and safeguarding partners.
  • Support safeguarding activity by identifying opportunities to protect children and disrupt offenders.
  • Attend court and respond to CPS enquiries where required.
  • Act as a local subject matter expert and contribute to staff training and development.
