Essential Employment is seeking a CID Case Officer for Lincoln. The role is full-time on a temporary basis, paying £15.72 per hour.

You will support investigating officers with criminal case files and contribute to the preparation and submission of materials to CPS. This position involves gathering and reviewing digital, audio, visual, and documentary evidence; ensuring data accuracy and secure handling; and coordinating with investigators, prosecutors, and partner agencies to maintain project

Responsibilities

• Support investigating officers in the preparation, development and submission of criminal case files.
• Gather, review and manage digital, audio, visual and documentary evidence.
• Obtain and collate third-party material required for investigations and court proceedings.
• Use digital case management systems to build, maintain and update investigation files.
• Ensure accurate data entry and secure handling of sensitive information in line with force policies and national standards.
• Prepare and submit initial prosecution files to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
• Verify the accuracy, completeness and quality of documentation, exhibits and evidential material before submission.
• Complete and submit file upgrades for trial, incorporating additional evidence, witness statements and procedural updates within required timescales.
• Work alongside investigating officers to complete post-charge action plans and fulfil CPS requirements.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure all actions are completed within prescribed timescales.
• Liaise with investigators, prosecutors and partner agencies to support effective case progression.
• Ensure all evidential material is managed in accordance with legislation, force policy and criminal justice procedures.
