Job summary

Lancashire Constabulary is seeking a highly motivated Digital Media Classifier & CAID Support Officer to join the specialist team supporting CAID referrals and digital media examinations.

The role involves applying SAP categorisation to images, assisting investigators, and using technology to identify victims, suspects, and locations within IIOC material. Strong MS Office skills and willingness to work towards CAID-related accreditations are required.

Qualifications

  • CAID User training (or be prepared to work towards)
  • National Grading IIOC Accreditation (or be prepared to work towards within 3 months)
  • Experience of undertaking enquiries with other departments or agencies to gather information and intelligence and identify subjects
  • Experience of using Microsoft Software Applications, including MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and consistently apply SAP categorisation to images

  • Assist Police Officers / Investigators by way of advice regarding best practices in with the classification of images in relation to online child sexual abuse and safeguarding victims.
  • Identify opportunities in online child sexual abuse investigations to identify first-generation imagery of contact abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

Vetting and Medical:

Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Management Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 5 year UK residency requirement for Management vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.

Upon successful appointment as per the job specification, you will be required to provide your DNA for elimination purposes, this will be held against the Contamination Elimination Database (CED).Please note, candidates successful at shortlisting will be required to undertake an assessment as part of the interview process.
