Job summary

Tesco Cafés is seeking a Team Leader to join one of our cafés, in a friendly, fast-paced environment where customer service comes first. You’ll support the Manager, coach teammates, and help the operation run smoothly.

You’ll lead by example, open and close the café, uphold health and safety and food safety standards, and look for ways to improve service. Tesco offers flexible working, development and training, and real opportunities to progress in an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Background in hospitality with Team/Shift Leader experience.
• Passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Health & Safety and Food Safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining operational and safety standards.
• Ensuring food safety and hygiene regulations are met.
• Leading by example by providing an excellent experience for customers.
• Opening and closing the café and overseeing full operations in the Manager's absence.
• Recognising and celebrating team members for providing excellent service.
• Learning the menu and helping the team to do the same.
• Boosting sales by ensuring the right people are in the right place.
• Delivering Health & Safety and Food Safety training for team members.
• Supporting the Café Manager with coaching and development.
• Promoting an inclusive environment where colleagues feel respected, valued, and safe.
