Job title: Cafe Team Leader

Hours: 40

Salary: £26,436.80

The Role:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Café, driving profit margin through controlled costs and maximising revenue.

What does the role involve?

A hands-on role that requires you to:

  • Ensure that Cafe opening and closing procedures are followed at all times
  • Be responsible for staff rotas within budgeted hours
  • Be responsible for all people management supporting with any performance issues.
  • Lead on all stock rotation, ensuring low wastage levels
  • Manage efficient café stock levels and vending machines, placing orders as necessary
  • Be responsible for tracking all wastage, working with Finance to ensure this is processed accurately and efficiently
  • Manage and oversee cleanliness and standards, always ensuring compliance with Food Safety standards
  • Comply with all hygiene regulations and maintain comprehensive, up to date records
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of all Café and vending equipment, reporting any defects/faults with suppliers
  • Plan ahead to maximise café revenue on any booked Centre events
  • Initiate new ideas to improve the level of service and facilities available to customers
  • Be involved in designing new menus, based on customer feedback
  • Contribute to commercial ideas, such as specials, seasonal foods/drinks and events
  • Effectively train team members on all company service standards, such as the Horizon HELLO
  • Collaborate with marketing on effectively promoting our Cafés
  • Support the business with new team member inductions
  • Be responsible for minimising environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace and for reporting potential risks, real accidents, and near misses to relevant managers

Your Experience:

  • Experience of working in the catering/licensed trade
  • Computer literate with basic ability in Excel and Word applications
  • Experience in the management and training of staff

Your Qualifications:

  • Food Hygiene Certificate

This role will be based at Waterlooville but will be expected to travel to other company sites as the need requires.
