Job summary

1 Hotel Mayfair, Neighbours & Nightingale Café, is seeking a proactive Café Supervisor to support the Café Manager in daily operations and guest experiences. You will lead a hands-on team, ensure efficient service, and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities include staff supervision, service excellence, stock control, and collaboration with other hotel departments to boost guest satisfaction. Weekend and bank holiday shifts may be required to meet hospitality demands.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a café, coffee shop, restaurant, or F&B environment.
• Supervisory or team leader experience.
• A genuine passion for coffee, food, and guest experiences.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Knowledge of upselling, stock control, waste reduction, and sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, motivate, and support the café team to deliver consistently high standards of service.
• Lead by example, providing friendly, attentive, and professional service to every guest.
• Coordinate the team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure guests are welcomed, orders taken accurately, and service is of the highest standard.
• Engage with guests, respond to requests, feedback, and concerns, and resolve complaints when possible.
• Coach and develop team members, supporting induction and training of new staff.
• Assist with stock ordering, deliveries, inventory, and reporting shortages or waste.
• Support the Café Manager with staff scheduling and training as required.
• Contribute to achieving café sales, service, and guest satisfaction targets.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and safety.
