Job summary

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support café team members during daily service, helping to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standard.
• Lead by example by providing friendly, professional, and efficient customer service at all times.
• Allocate daily duties, support break cover, and help coordinate the team during busy periods.
• Prepare and serve food, hot drinks, cold drinks, and snacks to a consistently high standard.
• Operate the till, handle cash and card payments accurately, and follow company cash-handling procedures.
• Monitor stock levels, restock supplies, and report any ordering, wastage, or availability issues to the appropriate manager.
• Ensure opening, closing, cleaning, and daily café procedures are completed correctly.
• Maintain excellent hygiene, cleanliness, food safety, and health and safety standards throughout the café.
• Support the induction and training of new or less experienced team members.
• Handle customer questions, feedback, and minor complaints professionally, escalating more complex matters where required.
