Job summary

Morrisons in North Shields is seeking a Café Manager or Supervisor to lead a busy, customer-focused team. You’ll oversee shift coverage, coaching and development, and ensure high standards of service across the café area.

You’ll drive friendly customer experiences, monitor stock and safety standards, and collaborate with other store departments to keep the café running smoothly and profitably. A real people person with people skills will fit right in.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in fast-paced hospitality or retail environments.
• Strong customer focus with a pro-service attitude.
• Ability to run shifts, manage priorities and daily tasks.

Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you’ll bring a proactive approach to running a welcoming, vibrant Café. You'll lead your team to deliver outstanding service, keep stock availability high, and make sure every customer leaves happy.

In this role, you’ll be on hand to:

• Put customers first: Empower your team to deliver friendly, attentive service, listening to customer feedback to make sure our Café is always a warm, welcoming place to pop by.
• Lead and support your team: Manage shift rotas, attendance, and talent development, delivering training so colleagues have the confidence to succeed and grow.
• Drive performance and standards: Lead an encouraging, performance-driven department, guiding colleagues to work with purpose against all operational and sales targets.
• Keep operations running smoothly: Plan resources thoroughly, manage daily team routines, and build strong working relationships with other store departments.
