BaxterStorey is recruiting a Cafe Manager for International Students House in London. The role oversees a busy café operation, with shifts five days out of seven, including weekends, and a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences in a high-traffic setting.

Location is in Vauxhall, Kennington Lane, with a breakfast-lunch service and rooftop access, offering opportunities for development and strong customer service delivery in a vibrant London setting.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Cafe Manager to join the team at International Students House

Location – International Students House Vauxhall (located at 238 Kennington Lane) provides affordable and friendly accommodation in our brand-new building.

• Breakfast and lunch are available in our Café, which is open 8 am to 4 pm daily.
• Relax on our rooftop terrace with views across London, including The Oval Cricket ground, which is very close by. Just a short walk away from Kennington Park – a large and attractive Victorian park with winding paths in a historic and peaceful atmosphere. A 10-minute walk to the Albert Embankment, where you can cross Vauxhall Bridge to visit Tate Britain, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben.

We Offer:

Shifts: 5 days out of 7/ Mon- Fri/ Weekends

Contract: Full Time

About the Cafe Manager role:

To supervise, manage and motivate the team, Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential.

To make sure that the operation runs smoothly

To ensure the customers experience is always maintained to the highest standard

To continuously work towards improving sales and service

Supporting and managing the performance of the team through ongoing evaluations, listening, training, and mentoring

Ensuring high levels of Food and Health & Safety are always maintained

The ideal candidate will possess good food and beverage knowledge in addition to outstanding customer service, and leadership skills.
