CAD Technician

Location: Woking, Surrey

Salary: Up to £45k dependent on experience

Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Sector: Civils within bespoke residential construction projects

The Company

We are delighted to support our client, a civil engineering and groundworks contractor with decades of experience in bespoke, high-end, and premium residential developments. They offer project management, design, civil services, demolition, and landscaping to deliver domestic developments of up to £2.5m. Having completed hundreds of projects across London, Homes Counties, and the wider UK, they are seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join their design team due to continued growth and a strong upcoming order book.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience working on premium domestic construction and refurb projects. You should have a strong background in construction with a degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related fields.

Responsibilities

1. Pricing drawings, preliminary to construction drawings
2. Familiarity with reinforcement drawings, concrete works, drainage, and setting out
3. Producing and presenting 3D modelling for quote presentations to clients or stakeholders
4. Incorporating and circulating changes
5. Establishing quantities for purchasing
6. Assisting the site team with queries related to drawings
7. Flagging changes to the site team
8. Logging weekly workload and updates for team meetings
9. Carrying out site visits when required
10. Learning (or already experienced) in setting out with confidence

Skills & Experience

• Good knowledge of MS Office suite
• Proficiency in Archicad; experience with AutoCAD or Civils3D modelling is preferable
• Experience in landscape designs
• At least 5 years' UK experience in a similar role
