Job summary

The Best Connection in Widnes is recruiting experienced fabricators/sheet metal workers for our manufacturing facility. You will produce 2D/3D CAD drawings, manage orders through production, and generate drawing packs for manufacturing.

Key duties include CAD design of sheet metal components, producing CAM files, and liaising with customers on technical queries. You will support production teams, perform quality checks, and drive process improvements with engineering and management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a sheet metal, fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Experience using CAD software in a technical or engineering setting.

Responsibilities

• Create drawing packs and works orders for manufacturing.
• Design sheet metal and fabrication components using CAD systems.

• Carry out quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.

Due to a huge increase in work, our client, a leading manufacturer in sheet-metalwork, Fabrication & Powder Coating, are looking to recruit experienced fabricators/sheet metal workers to work at their manufacturing facility in Widnes.

The main duties include:

• Producing 2D and 3D CAD drawings from customer specifications.
• Managing projects from receipt of customer order through to production.
• Creating drawing packs and works orders for manufacturing.
• Using CAD systems to design sheet metal and fabrication components.
• Producing files for CAM processing and subcontract manufacturing.
• Liaising directly with customers regarding technical queries and design approvals.
• Providing technical support to production teams on the shop floor.
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
• Working closely with engineering and management teams to identify process improvements.

Essential criteria:

• Previous experience within a sheet metal, fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Experience using CAD software in a technical or engineering setting.

Hours of work:

38½ hours per week

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
• Friday: 07:30 - 12:00
