Job summary

KPJ Group is seeking a CAD Technician to join their engineering team at a site in Stockport, Greater Manchester. You will use 3D AutoCAD to create technical drawings, 3D models, and design documentation for construction and engineering projects.

The role requires a City & Guilds Level 3 in CAD and at least five years of hands-on experience with 3D AutoCAD, including AutoCAD MEP. You will prepare layouts, update documentation, and liaise with clients and suppliers while visiting sites as needed.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 in CAD or equivalent.
• At least five years' experience using 3D AutoCAD in construction or engineering.
• Strong AutoCAD skills with 3D modelling for engineering drawings.
• Experience using AutoCAD MEP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts and detailed engineering drawings.
• Produce accurate 3D AutoCAD models.
• Integrate topographical surveys with OS coordinates.
• Produce setting-out plans.
• Update design documentation per revision-control procedures.
• Create and maintain a library of standard CAD objects and symbols.
• Liaise with clients and suppliers to move information.
• Carry out site visits to support the design process.
• Produce and update accurate as-built drawings.
• Support wider teams with technical drawings and design information.

This is a role suited to someone with experience using 3D AutoCAD within a construction or engineering environment, as you will be producing technical drawings, 3D models and design documentation.

What will you be doing as a CAD Technician?

• Preparing design layouts and detailed engineering drawings
• Producing accurate 3D AutoCAD models
• Integrating topographical surveys with Ordnance Survey coordinates
• Producing setting-out plans
• Updating design documentation in line with revision-control procedures
• Creating and maintaining a library of standard CAD objects and symbols
• Liaising with clients and suppliers to keep technical information moving
• Carrying out site visits to support the design process
• Producing and updating accurate as-built drawings
• Supporting wider teams with technical drawings and design information

What will you need?

• City & Guilds Level 3 in CAD, or an equivalent qualification
